AC134 Low-Frequency Side Exit Accelerometer

Side-Exit Connector & Integral-Cable Versions – 100 mV/g Class Output

Engineered for condition monitoring of slow-turning shafts, large journal bearings and other assets where vibration energy lives below 1 Hz, the CTC AC134 Series delivers a high-resolution window into machinery health. Its 103 mV/g nominal sensitivity and exceptionally flat response that begins at 0.1 Hz capture the minute displacement-driven motions that standard 100 mV/g industrial accelerometers miss. A shear-mode PZT ceramic sensing element is welded inside a 316L stainless-steel housing, providing outstanding thermal stability, cross-axis rejection, and hermetic protection rated to IP68 for complete submersion to 60 m.

Although optimized for low-frequency work, the AC134 retains broadband capability to 8 kHz (±3 dB) and ruggedness for harsh plants: it survives 5 000 g mechanical shock, operates from –50 °C to +121 °C, and settles electrically in under two seconds—ideal for rapid route-based data collection. A side-exit 2-pin MIL-spec connector or integral/armored cable options simplify cable management in tight spaces, while CTC’s unconditional lifetime warranty safeguards your investment.

Key Features of the AC134 Accelerometer

  1. 103 mV/g (±10 %) sensitivity resolves ultra-low-frequency vibration and seismic-type motion
  2. 0.1 Hz – 8 kHz (4 – 480 k cpm) bandwidth, usable for both slow-roll trending and high-frequency fault detection
  3. Extremely low noise floor: 1.7 µg/√Hz @ 10 Hz ensures high signal-to-noise at very low speeds
  4. ±10 g dynamic range with 5 000 g shock limit—robust enough for startup and transient events
  5. Hermetically welded 316L stainless-steel case; IP68, submersible 200 ft / 60 m
  6. Side-exit connector keeps the cable clear of vertical clearance envelopes
  7. IEPE powered (18 – 30 V DC, 2 – 10 mA); < 2 s settling time speeds data routes
  8. Choice of integral, armored or heavy-duty armored cable assemblies
  9. Captive-bolt mounting (¼-28 UNF or M6) for repeatable coupling
  10. Supplied with NIST-traceable calibration certificate and backed by CTC’s Lifetime Warranty

Typical Applications for the AC134 Accelerometer

  • Main bearings, rotor journals and gear-box inputs on hydro, wind, paper and marine equipment
  • Low-RPM kilns, dryers, mixers, cooling-tower fans and aeration blowers
  • Structural and seismic vibration monitoring of bridges, stacks and large rotating drums
  • General industrial assets requiring simultaneous low-frequency trend data and higher-frequency fault capture, especially where side-exit cabling is preferred for clearance or strain-relief reasons
