SENSVISION HLC 400H – An Equivalent to the BD Sensors LMK 458 H
The BD Sensors LMK 458 H is the HART variant of the marine and offshore submersible level probe. Suspended in the tank, it measures level hydrostatically using a capacitive ceramic sensing element, covering nominal ranges from 0 … 60 cmH₂O up to 0 … 200 mH₂O with an accuracy of 0.1% FSO at nominal pressures of 1 bar and above.
The SENSVISION HLC 400H is a directly equivalent marine HART probe, with standard nominal ranges from 0 … 0.6 mH₂O up to 0 … 200 mH₂O and matching accuracy of up to ±0.1% of span for nominal pressures from 0.6 bar, or ±0.2% of span from 160 mbar, in both cases at turndown ratios up to 5:1.
Both probes carry the HART digital communication layer over the 4 … 20 mA loop. The analogue signal continues to drive the ship or platform control system while HART runs alongside it, so a probe at the bottom of a ballast or service tank can be re-ranged and interrogated without recovering it. On the HLC 400H this covers electronic damping adjustable from 0 to 100 seconds, measuring offset up to 80% of span, and span turndown of up to 10:1 depending on the nominal range selected.
Marine classification and seawater resistance carry across as well. The HLC 400H is supported by Lloyd’s Register, DNV, China Classification Society and American Bureau of Shipping approvals, with EMC to EN 61326 and DNV requirements, and offers the same CuNi10Fe1Mn housing option alongside stainless steel 1.4404 (316L). The shielded TPE-U cable carries an integrated atmospheric reference tube, and the probe is sealed to IP 68 with a POM protection cap.
Whether you are replacing an installed BD Sensors LMK 458 H or specifying a remotely configurable classed level probe for a new ballast, draught or offshore storage application, the SENSVISION HLC 400H delivers equivalent measurement performance, digital configurability and approval coverage as a dependable, cost-effective alternative.
