SENSVISION HLS 310 D – An Equivalent to the BD Sensors LMP 307i
The BD Sensors LMP 307i is the precision member of the LMP 307 family: a stainless steel submersible hydrostatic level probe with digital sensor electronics, covering nominal ranges to 0 … 200 mH₂O at an accuracy of ±0.1% FSO to IEC 60770, or ±0.2% FSO on the lowest ranges. It offers 2-wire 4 … 20 mA and 3-wire 0 … 10 V outputs with a response time of approximately 200 ms.
The SENSVISION HLS 310 D is a directly equivalent precision probe covering 0 to 4, 10, 20, 40, 100 and 200 mH₂O – nominal pressures of 0.4, 1, 2, 4, 10 and 20 bar gauge – with matching accuracy of up to ±0.1% of span, stated to EN IEC 62828-2, and the same pairing of a 4 to 20 mA two-wire output with an optional 0 to 10 V three-wire version.
Digital electronics are what separate this pair from the standard LMP 307 and HLS 310. Where the standard probe is a fixed-range analogue instrument at ±0.35% of span, the LMP 307i and the HLS 310 D use a digitally compensated sensor to reach ±0.1% – a three-fold improvement – and to hold that figure across temperature. On the HLS 310 D that digital layer is accessible: an RS 232 communication interface accompanies the current output, the span can be turned down as far as 10:1 with no loss of accuracy up to 5:1, electronic damping is adjustable from 0 to 100 seconds and the zero offset over 0 to 90% of span. Response time is 5 ms on the current output and 25 ms on the voltage output, against approximately 200 ms for the LMP 307i.
Mechanically the two are conventional submersible probes. Wetted materials are stainless steel – a 1.4404 (316L) housing with a 1.4435 (316L) diaphragm on the HLS 310 D, with FKM or EPDM seals and a POM protection cap – suiting water, groundwater and lightly polluted fluids. The probe hangs on a suspension cable carrying the integrated tube that references the sensor to atmospheric pressure, available in PVC, PUR, FEP or TPE-U at 7.4 mm diameter, and the 27 mm body is sealed to IP 68 for permanent submersion. Both are offered in an intrinsically safe version; note that the LMP 307i additionally lists a drinking water certificate, which the published HLS 310 D specification does not state, so that approval should be confirmed before specifying it into a certified potable water duty.
Whether you are replacing an installed BD Sensors LMP 307i or specifying a high-accuracy level probe for a new custody, monitoring or process application, the SENSVISION HLS 310 D delivers equivalent measurement performance, materials and configurability as a dependable, cost-effective alternative.
