SENSVISION HLS 330D – An Equivalent to the BD Sensors LMP 331i
The BD Sensors LMP 331i is the precision digital version of the LMP 331 screw-in level transmitter. Where the standard LMP 331 is an analogue instrument rated at ±0.35% FSO, the 331i adds digital sensor electronics and a 16-bit analogue-to-digital converter that actively compensate the raw sensor signal, lifting accuracy to ±0.1% FSO to IEC 60770 and reducing thermal error to 0.2% FSO across the compensated range. It covers nominal ranges from 0 … 400 mbar to 0 … 40 bar with turn-down up to 1:10 and an RS232 interface for setting offset, span and damping.

Like the LMP 331i, this is a screw-in, process-mounted transmitter with a flush diaphragm, not a submersible probe. The HLS 330D uses a G 3/4″ DIN 3852 connection with the diaphragm level with the process boundary, so there is no recess for product to pack into — the reason both models are specified for viscous, pasty or crystallising media in chemical and petrochemical tanks, process vessels, water and wastewater plant and recycling facilities.
The configurability that distinguishes the “i” and “D” variants carries across. The LMP 331i is adjusted over RS232; the HLS 330D offers the same RS 232 communication interface through a seven-pin Binder Series 723 or 423 connection, with CIS 510 RS232 and USB programming kits available, allowing electronic damping to be set from 0 to 100 seconds, offset from 0 to 90% of span and span turn-down up to 10:1. Accuracy is unchanged at turn-down up to 5:1 on the HLS 330D.
Materials, temperatures and approvals align closely. Both use a stainless steel 1.4404 (316L) pressure port and housing with a 1.4435 (316L) diaphragm and FKM seals as standard, both weigh approximately 200 g, and both share a permissible medium temperature of −25 to 125 °C with electronics rated to 85 °C and storage to −40/100 °C.
