Applications For Analog Output Pressure Transmitters
With a ready-to-use analog signal and a robust ceramic sensor, the Titan TPTa suits a wide range of industrial, OEM and test applications:
- Hydraulic power units and mobile hydraulics – monitoring system and pump pressure up to 600 bar.
- Pneumatic and compressed air systems – compressor control, leak detection and air supply monitoring.
- OEM machinery and equipment – a cost-effective sensor for pumps, compressors, presses and skids.
- Process monitoring and control – feeding 4-20 mA signals into PLCs, controllers and SCADA systems.
- Battery-powered data logging – the ratiometric version draws minimal current from a 2.7 to 5.5 VDC supply.
- Test benches and laboratories – repeatable measurements for validation, calibration and R&D.
- Automotive and aerospace testing – fuel, lubrication, brake and actuator system test rigs.
- Medical equipment development – pressure monitoring in prototype respiratory and fluid systems.
How The Titan TPTa Pressure Transmitter Works
Pressure applied to the ceramic diaphragm causes a tiny deflection that changes the resistance of a thick-film Wheatstone bridge printed on its reverse side. Inside the TPTa, a microprocessor-based circuit amplifies this millivolt-level bridge signal, corrects it for non-linearity and temperature effects, and scales it to the selected analog output.
The result is a robust, noise-resistant signal that can travel over long cable runs to a control system. A 4-20 mA loop is the preferred choice for longer distances and electrically noisy plants, while voltage outputs suit short connections to local controllers and data acquisition inputs. For dynamic measurements that need the full bandwidth of the sensing cell, the passive mV output Titan TPT is the better fit.

Titan TPTa Pressure Transmitter FAQs
Which output should I choose for the TPTa?
A 2-wire 4-20 mA output is best for long cable runs and noisy industrial environments. The 0-10 V, 0-5 V and 1-5 V outputs suit short runs to local controllers, while the 0.5-4.5 V ratiometric version is ideal for low-power, battery-operated equipment.
What is the difference between the TPTa and the TPT?
Both use the same ceramic sensing cell. The TPT provides a passive mV/V signal for fast dynamic measurement, while the TPTa adds onboard electronics to deliver a conditioned, temperature-compensated analog output ready for PLCs and controllers.
Can the TPTa measure absolute pressure?
Yes. The TPTa is available in gauge, sealed gauge and absolute reference across its range options.
Is the TPTa suitable for hydraulic oil and water?
Yes. It is compatible with any liquid or gas suited to 303 stainless steel, alumina ceramic and Viton (FKM), including hydraulic oils, water, air and many mildly corrosive media.
