SENSVISION DPG 500 – An Equivalent to the BD Sensors BAROLI 05
The BD Sensors BAROLI 05 is the general-purpose member of the BAROLI family of battery-powered digital pressure gauges. Where the BAROLI 02 uses a stainless steel sensor for 0.1% class work, the BAROLI 05 is built around a ceramic Al₂O₃ 96% diaphragm at accuracy class 0.2 (≤ ±0.25% FSO BFSL), covering nominal ranges from 0 … 400 mbar up to 0 … 600 bar for gauge or absolute measurement of fluids, oils and gases.
The SENSVISION DPG 500 is the equivalent general-purpose gauge and is the direct alternative. It spans 100 mbar to 600 bar — covering the whole BAROLI 05 range and extending lower — with a standard accuracy of 0.5% of span to EN IEC 62828-2 and an optional 0.25% of span version that matches the BAROLI 05 accuracy class. Specify the 0.25% option where you are replacing a BAROLI 05 like for like. Like the BAROLI 05 it is entirely self-contained: no external power supply, no 4–20 mA loop and no signal wiring.
One genuine difference is worth stating plainly. The BAROLI 05 senses through a ceramic diaphragm, chosen for its resistance to abrasive and chemically aggressive media; the DPG 500 uses a stainless steel 1.4435 (316L) diaphragm behind a 316L pressure port. For water, oils, fuels, compressed air, hydraulics and general plant service the two are interchangeable, but where the ceramic diaphragm was specified for a particularly aggressive medium please confirm media compatibility with our engineers.
In everyday use the two gauges behave the same way. Both are read directly at the process from a rotatable housing that can be turned to face the operator, and both provide a min/max memory for capturing pressure peaks between visits, on-device zero-point calibration, switchable pressure units and an automatic switch-off. The BAROLI 05 runs on two 3.6 V lithium cells with about five years of standby life; the DPG 500 runs on two standard 1.5 V AAA batteries giving up to 1,500 hours of operation, which are far easier and cheaper to keep in stock and replace on site.
Both gauges are rated IP 65 with FKM as the standard seal material and a medium temperature range of −20 to 85 °C.
