SENSVISION DPG 500F – An Equivalent to the BD Sensors BAROLI 05P
The BD Sensors BAROLI 05P is the flush-diaphragm, hygienic version of the BAROLI 05 battery-powered digital pressure gauge. Its flush welded stainless steel diaphragm presents a crevice-free wetted face with no dead space in front of the sensing surface, so the instrument can be cleaned in place and sterilised and can measure viscous, pasty or particulate-bearing media that would pack into a recessed pressure port. It is offered at accuracy class 0.25% in nominal ranges from 0 … 60 bar up to 0 … 400 bar.
The SENSVISION DPG 500F is the hygienic flush-diaphragm member of the DPG 500 family and is the closest equivalent. It shares the defining feature: a flush welded stainless steel diaphragm that is dead-space free and easy to clean, with a 1.4435 (316L) diaphragm behind a 1.4404 (316L) pressure port. It offers 0.5% of span accuracy to EN IEC 62828-2 as standard with an optional 0.25% of span version that matches the BAROLI 05P accuracy class. Like the BAROLI 05P it is a self-contained indicating gauge — no external power supply, no 4–20 mA loop and no signal wiring.
Please note an important difference in pressure range. The DPG 500F covers nominal ranges from 100 mbar to 40 bar, whereas the BAROLI 05P is a higher-pressure instrument covering 60 bar to 400 bar. The DPG 500F is therefore a direct alternative for hygienic duties at 40 bar and below, and it extends the family considerably further down the scale, but it does not cover the BAROLI 05P ranges above 40 bar. If your application sits in the 60 to 400 bar band, please talk to our engineers before ordering so we can propose a suitable high-pressure hygienic option.
Where the ranges do overlap, the two gauges suit the same work: food and beverage production and packaging, dairy and brewery process monitoring, pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing, cleanroom and laboratory checks, and any sanitary line where viscous or contaminated media rule out a conventional pressure port. Both are read locally from a rotatable housing that can be turned to face the operator, and both provide a min/max memory for capturing pressure peaks, on-device zero-point calibration, switchable units and an automatic switch-off.
The BAROLI 05P runs on two 3.6 V lithium cells with roughly five years of standby life; the DPG 500F runs on two standard 1.5 V AAA batteries giving up to 1,500 hours of operation, which are far easier and cheaper to source and change in a production area. Both are rated IP 65 with FKM as the standard seal material. Note also that the BAROLI 05P is rated for medium temperatures from −40 to 125 °C depending on filling fluid, while the DPG 500F is specified from −20 to 85 °C — please confirm your process temperature with our engineers.
