Applications For Low Range Digital Pressure Transmitters
The Titan TPTLRd is designed for low-pressure measurement in systems built around digital electronics:
- Embedded OEM products – low-pressure sensing for blowers, pumps, filtration and dosing equipment with a host microcontroller.
- Pneumatic testing – monitoring low air pressures in actuators, valves and supply lines.
- Medical device prototyping – respiratory, flow and fluid-delivery equipment development.
- Battery-powered data loggers – low supply voltage for long field deployments.
- Laboratory and research testing – digital readings fed straight into acquisition hardware and test software.
- Aerospace and automotive research – low-pressure fuel, intake and environmental system test rigs.
- Academic research and teaching – simple connection to development boards for student and research projects.
How The Titan TPTLRd Digital Pressure Transmitter Works
Low pressures produce very small signals, so the TPTLRd uses a silicon piezo-resistive chip, which is far more sensitive than a thick-film ceramic cell. Pressure on the stainless steel wetted diaphragm is transferred to the silicon bridge, and an onboard microprocessor digitizes the result, applies the factory calibration and temperature compensation, and presents the finished reading on an I2C or SPI bus.
Because the conversion happens inside the sensor, there is no low-level analog signal to amplify, filter or protect from noise. If you need an analog output at these ranges, see the Titan TPTLRa; for higher pressures with a digital output, see the Titan TPTd.

Titan TPTLRd Low Range Digital Pressure Transmitter FAQs
What is the lowest pressure range of the TPTLRd?
The lowest standard range is 70 mbar gauge (about 1 psi), with further ranges at 200, 350, 700 and 1000 mbar and up to 20 bar.
Which digital interfaces does the TPTLRd support?
The TPTLRd supports both I2C and SPI for direct connection to microcontrollers, single board computers and embedded data acquisition systems.
Can the TPTLRd run from a 3.3 V supply?
Yes. It operates from 2.7 to 5.5 VDC, so it works with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems.
What is the difference between the TPTLRd and the TPTd?
Both provide I2C and SPI outputs. The TPTLRd uses a silicon sensor for low ranges from 70 mbar to 20 bar, while the TPTd uses a ceramic sensor for ranges from 0.5 bar to 600 bar.
