Titan TPT Ceramic Pressure Transducer, mV Output

The Titan TPT is a compact millivolt-output pressure transducer built around a 96% alumina (Al2O3) ceramic piezo-resistive sensing cell, sealed inside a rugged stainless steel body. Because the bridge circuit uses only passive components, it draws very little current and can run from any excitation between 2 and 30 VDC, which makes it a natural fit for battery-powered loggers, portable test rigs and OEM equipment where every milliamp counts.

Ranges run from 0.5 bar to 600 bar in gauge, sealed gauge or absolute reference, with accuracy classes down to ≤ ±0.10% FS. With no active electronics slowing the signal, the Titan TPT responds to pressure changes with a natural frequency of up to 75 kHz, ideal for surge capture and dynamic testing. Output can be supplied as a raw mV/V signal or rationalized to 2, 3, 10 or 20 mV/V, with M12, mini DIN 43650, MIL-C style or integral cable connections and up to IP67 protection.

Key Features Of The Titan TPT Ceramic Pressure Transducer

  1. Ceramic Piezo-Resistive Sensing Cell
A 96% alumina (Al2O3) diaphragm resists corrosion and abrasion, giving dependable long-term readings even with aggressive fluids.

  2. Passive Bridge, Ultra-Low Power Draw
No active electronics on board means minimal current consumption, ideal for battery-powered loggers and remote installations.

  3. Dynamic Response Up To 75 kHz
The unamplified signal path lets the sensor follow fast pressure transients, from 1 kHz on low ranges to 75 kHz on high ranges.

  4. Three Accuracy Classes
Choose ≤ ±0.35%, ≤ ±0.25% or ≤ ±0.10% FS (non-linearity, hysteresis and repeatability) to match budget and precision needs.

  5. Raw Or Rationalized mV/V Output
    Supplied as uncompensated mV/V or trimmed to 2, 3, 10 or 20 mV/V, powered from a wide 2 to 30 VDC excitation.

  6. Flexible Mechanical And Electrical Connections
G1/4 male or female, 1/4 NPT and 7/16-20 UNF ports, with M12, mini DIN 43650, MIL-C style or integral cable outlets up to IP67.

Applications For mV Output Pressure Transducers

The Titan TPT is chosen wherever engineers need a fast, low-power and cost-effective pressure signal that can be conditioned by their own electronics. Typical uses include:

  • OEM equipment integration – compact enough to build into pumps, compressors, hydraulic power units and process skids.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic test benches – tracking system pressure, leak-down and valve performance.
  • Pressure surge and spike detection – capturing water hammer and transient events thanks to the high natural frequency.
  • Battery-powered data loggers – long deployments where low excitation current extends battery life.
  • Automotive component testing – fuel, brake, lubrication and HVAC system validation.
  • Aerospace test and development – rig testing of actuators, fuel systems and environmental controls.
  • Medical device prototyping – respiratory, fluid delivery and pneumatic medical equipment development.
  • Laboratory, university and R&D work – repeatable measurements for experiments, calibration checks and teaching labs.

How A Passive mV Pressure Transducer Works

Inside the TPT, a Wheatstone bridge of thick-film resistors is printed directly onto the back of the ceramic diaphragm. As pressure deflects the diaphragm, the resistors strain and the bridge produces a small differential voltage that is proportional to both the applied pressure and the excitation voltage. This ratiometric mV/V signal is passed straight to the output with no amplification stage, so there is nothing to limit bandwidth, add noise or consume power.

This approach suits designers who already have an instrumentation amplifier, strain gauge input or data acquisition card in their system. It also gives the shortest possible signal path for capturing rapid pressure events. If you need a conditioned 4-20 mA, 0-10 V or digital signal instead, an amplified transmitter version is the better choice.

Output Options And Electrical Connections

The standard output is an uncompensated raw mV/V bridge signal. For easier interchangeability between sensors, the output can be rationalized so every unit delivers the same full-scale sensitivity: 2 mV/V, 3 mV/V, 10 mV/V or 20 mV/V. Excitation can be anywhere from 2 to 30 VDC.

  • M12 x 1, 4-pin connector – IP65 for gauge ranges up to 50 bar, IP67 for absolute, sealed gauge or ranges above 50 bar
  • Mini DIN 43650 right-angle plug and socket
  • Screened PVC cable outlet – IP65
  • Molded PUR cable outlet – IP67
  • MIL-C style bayonet connector – IP67

Titan TPT Pressure Transducer FAQs

What is the difference between a pressure transducer and a pressure transmitter?

A transducer like the TPT outputs a small, unamplified mV/V signal straight from the sensing bridge. A transmitter adds onboard electronics to convert that into an industrial signal such as 4-20 mA or 0-10 V. Transducers are faster and use less power; transmitters are easier to wire over long distances.

Can the TPT measure dynamic or pulsating pressure?

Yes. With no amplifier in the signal path, the natural frequency reaches up to 75 kHz on higher ranges, making it suitable for surge, pulsation and transient pressure measurement.

Which media is the TPT compatible with?

Any liquid or gas compatible with 303 stainless steel, alumina ceramic and the chosen seal material (FKM, EPDM or NBR), including hydraulic oils, water, air and many mildly corrosive fluids.
