Applications For Low Range Pressure Transducers
The TPTLR is ideal wherever small pressure changes need to be measured accurately and efficiently:
- Pneumatic system testing – monitoring low air pressures in actuators, valves and supply lines.
- OEM equipment – compact low-pressure sensing for blowers, pumps, filtration and dosing systems.
- Laboratory and research testing – high-resolution measurements for experiments and calibration checks.
- Medical device prototyping – respiratory, flow and fluid-delivery equipment development.
- Battery-powered data loggers – long-term recording with minimal power draw.
- Aerospace test and research – cabin, environmental control and fuel system rig testing.
- Automotive component testing – evaporative emissions, intake and low-pressure fluid system tests.
- Academic research – a flexible sensor for university labs and research projects.
Measuring Low Pressures With A mV Output Transducer
At low pressure ranges the signal produced by a sensing element is very small, so sensitivity and stability matter more than ever. The TPTLR uses a silicon piezo-resistive chip, which offers much higher sensitivity than a thick-film ceramic cell, making it well suited to ranges in the millibar region. Pressure acting on the stainless steel wetted diaphragm is transferred to the silicon bridge, which produces a millivolt output proportional to the applied pressure and the excitation voltage.
The unamplified output keeps the signal path short and fast, and lets engineers apply their own gain, filtering and calibration in downstream electronics. For higher pressure ranges with a ceramic sensor, see the Titan TPT pressure transducer.
Output Options And Electrical Connections
The standard output is a raw mV/V bridge signal. It can also be rationalized to 2 mV/V, 3 mV/V, 10 mV/V or 20 mV/V so that every sensor delivers the same full-scale output. Recommended excitation is 3 to 12 VDC.

Titan TPTLR Low Range Pressure Transducer FAQs
What is the lowest pressure range available for the TPTLR?
The lowest standard range is 70 mbar (approximately 1 psi), with further ranges at 200, 350, 700 and 1000 mbar and up to 20 bar.
Why does the TPTLR use a silicon sensor rather than ceramic?
Silicon piezo-resistive sensors are far more sensitive than thick-film ceramic cells, producing a usable output at very low pressures with excellent resolution and stability.
Does the TPTLR need an amplifier?
Yes. As a passive mV output transducer, it is designed to connect to an instrumentation amplifier, strain gauge input or data acquisition channel. For a conditioned 4-20 mA or voltage signal, choose the Titan TPTLRa transmitter.
Which media can the TPTLR measure?
Any liquid or gas compatible with 303 and 316 stainless steel and the selected seal material (FKM, EPDM or NBR), including air, water, oils and many process fluids.
