Applications For Analog Temperature Transmitters
With a ready-to-use analog signal, the Titan TTTa fits easily into industrial, OEM and test systems:
- Hydraulic systems – oil temperature monitoring on power units, reservoirs and return lines.
- Pneumatic and compressed air systems – air and coolant temperature measurement.
- OEM machinery – a compact, cost-effective sensor for pumps, compressors and process skids.
- Process monitoring and control – 4-20 mA temperature signals for PLCs, controllers and SCADA systems.
- Battery-powered data loggers – the ratiometric version runs from a 2.7 to 5.5 VDC supply.
- Automotive component testing – coolant, oil and fluid temperatures on test rigs.
- Medical equipment development – temperature feedback in prototype fluid and thermal systems.
- Laboratory and academic research – repeatable measurements for experiments and validation.
How The Titan TTTa Temperature Transmitter Works
At the tip of the stainless steel probe is a platinum resistance thermometer (RTD), either PT100 or PT1000. Its electrical resistance rises in a precise, predictable way as temperature increases. The electronics in the TTTa measure this resistance, linearize it and convert it into the selected analog output, scaled across your calibrated temperature range.
Because the signal conditioning is built in, there is no need for a separate RTD transmitter or a dedicated RTD input card, and the amplified signal can travel over long cable runs without the lead-resistance errors that affect directly wired RTDs. The electronics sample in under 10 ms, and the overall response to a temperature change is under 150 ms.

Titan TTTa Temperature Transmitter FAQs
What is the difference between a temperature sensor and a temperature transmitter?
A temperature sensor such as a PT100 produces a small change in resistance that needs dedicated electronics to read. A temperature transmitter like the TTTa includes those electronics and outputs a standard signal such as 4-20 mA or 0-10 V that any PLC or controller can use.
Should I choose PT100 or PT1000?
Both are accurate platinum sensors. PT1000 produces a larger resistance change per degree, which helps in low-power designs. Because the TTTa conditions the signal internally, either option delivers the same standard output.
Which probe length do I need?
The probe tip should sit well into the flow or fluid being measured. Short 5 mm and 21 mm probes suit manifolds and small-bore pipework, while 51 mm and 101 mm probes suit larger pipes, tanks and reservoirs.
Can the output be scaled to my temperature range?
Yes. The TTTa is calibrated so the full output span covers your specified range, anywhere between -25 and +125 °C.
